Composed… That is one word that comes to mind when watching Dustin Johnson play golf. Quiet… Another word that comes to mind. Well if you pay attention at all to the PGA Tour and/or golf in general you know that DJ’s game is anything but quiet.
For as bold as his golf game is, it truly is amazing how well he keeps his emotions in check. Let’s dig a bit deeper and learn the whole story about the World #1 (As of March 2019) and take a look at what’s in Dustin Johnson’s Bag.
When did Dustin Johnson join the PGA Tour?
DJ was born in 1984 in Columbia, South Carolina. He didn’t stray to far away from home for college, as he attended Coastal Carolina University to play collegiate golf. Dustin Johnson turned pro and joined the PGA Tour in 2007.
Since joining the PGA Tour DJ has been one of the elite players on tour without a doubt. Predominately known for his ability to hit the long ball, Johnson has improved his putting in recent years making him one of the most complete players on tour.

He is only the second player in the history of golf to win a professional tournament in each of his first 7 seasons on Tour. The first to accomplish the feat? Surprise, surprise… Tiger Woods.
Dustin Johnson’s Career Accomplishments (so far…)
DJ’s improvements to his game since becoming pro have made him the most dangerous player on tour with the skill and ability to win any week at any course.
This isn’t just an opinion either. The results speak for themselves. DJ has racked up an impressive 20 PGA Tour wins and 7 European Tour wins in his career thus far (As of March 2019).

Johnson was named both PGA Tour Player of the Year and PGA Player of the year after a stellar 2016 campaign. That year he averaged the lowest score per round, winning both the Vardon Trophy, and the Byron Nelson Award.
He also got his first and only Major Tournament Victory at the 116th U.S. Open held at Oakmont Country Club in Oakmont, PA. At the time of this writing Johnson is the World #1 Ranked Golfer

Dustin Johnson’s Driver and Fairways
Dustin is consistently one of the top players off the tee on the PGA Tour. If you follow golf and made it this far in the article you know that and there’s no need to elaborate. DJ goes with the new TaylorMade M5 Driver (9 degrees) and Fairways.

Dustin Johnson’s Irons
For his irons DJ keeps it simple and expensive (for us normal folk at least), rolling with the TaylorMade P730 Irons. From TaylorMade:
“Designed specifically for the best Tour players in the world, P730 represents the most finely crafted irons TaylorMade has to offer”
You can bet clubs described as such are a good as money can buy. And you’re right they retail at $1,399 for a 3-PW iron set.

Johnson’s Wedges 2019
Just as fellow tour member Rory McIlroy, Dustin has 2 different wedges in his bag. The first is TaylorMade Milled Grind Wedge. The second in the TaylorMade Milled Grind HI-TOE Wedge.

The HI-TOE is designed specifically for more advanced player on tougher lies. The toe of the club is expanded to give more spin on finesse shots.
Dustin Johnson’s Putter in 2019
As most professionals have done in recent years DJ has experimented with his putter choice.
Most recently he has switched from a TaylorMade Spider Tour Black Putter to the silver TaylorMade Spider Mini and then went to a more blade-like Juno version as of March 2019.
DJ’s putter choice has obviously paid off as of late because he has been unstoppable on the greens, as well as, everything of faucet of the game! TaylorMade strikes again as one of the premier names in golf.
The results speak for themselves. TaylorMade Equipment, including the number 1 driver in golf, plus a composed, physically gifted player, equals the World Number 1 golfer!
