Under Armour HOVR Drive Shoe Revealed – New HOVR cushioning material said to enhance comfort and also help you generate more power.

Under Armour HOVR Drive Shoe Revealed

With the new HOVR Drive golf shoe, Under Armour wanted to provide full, all-round comfort without sacrificing the responsive energy return naturally generated during the golf swing.

This comes from the HOVR cushioning underfoot, which originally featured in the brand’s running shoes. It is a soft yet responsive cushioning material said to provide walking comfort as well as the ability to help golfers harness power by keeping the foot driven into the ground for longer during the swing.

This is why the softer HOVR material features on the inside of the foot as well as the heel. The rest of the midsole features a slightly firmer EVA material to provide more stability on the outside of the foot. This combination of hard and soft in specific areas is mirrored in the fitbed.

Compared to the recently-launched Spieth 3, it offers a slightly softer feel underfoot and a higher profile. It shares the same traction elements on the sole, including the RST 2.0 cleats that help prevent excessive rotation of the feet during the swing. They’re also softer and more flexible to help connect with the ground and improve durability as well as green friendliness.

Integrated laces helps provide a more snug fit as well as extra support.

“With most other cushioning platforms, you have to choose softness or responsiveness. UA HOVR cushioning technology ensures total underfoot comfort and superior energy return.” Mike Forsey, Director of Global Golf Footwear for Under Armour, told GM.
The HOVR Drive also features Storm technology to keep water at bay. It is on sale from today with an RRP of £140.
