58 is the lowest score ever in a PGA Tour Event. It is also the lowest score in the history of the PGA Tour. The tour record came at the hands of American Jim Furyk. The Date: August 7th, 2016 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, CT.
Furyk, a then 24 year veteran on the PGA tour, went out and shot a 58 on the final round of the Traveler’s Championship. His record-breaking round consisted of 10 birdies, an eagle, and 7 pars. Furyk’s heroics in 2016 are the only instance of a score of 58 at a PGA Tour event.
Furyk’s consistency was on full display that day hitting all 18 greens in regulation. He was 46 years of age at the time.
